Happy Fall Everyone! I am excited about the cooler temperatures because I feel like I have more energy to get out and move more! The fall is a nice reprieve from the from the heat, but also a change in seasons has us trying on clothes we may not have worn in a while. Hopefully they fit like (or better than) they did last fall, but if they are snug that gets us motivated to get to work to get rid of those extra pounds.
If you would like to join us for Bootcamp, we have some new things going on for you to check out:
Monday nights are New Spinning Bootcamp classes! We meet at Spin Time behind the Bicycle Outfitter, which is near the Square in Harrison. We pedal our spin bikes to get a great cardio workout for the first 30 minutes and end with 15 minutes of core and strength exercises. This class starts at 5:30pm Mondays.
Wednesday and Friday nights we meet at Mrs. Christy’s dance, tumble, and cheer on Goblin Drive in Harrison. We use many different tools focusing on strength training. Some of the tools include Kettlebells, dumbbells, medicine balls, resistance bands, and our own body weight! Danah always has something new to show you and keep you interested. Lots of variety will keep you from getting bored and keep you motivated to keep coming back! We always have lots of fun! These classes meet at 5:15pm on Wednesday and Friday.
New equipment: Danah recently purchased some heavier kettlebells to challenge those of you who have mastered the 15 pounders! And most of you have ventured out of your comfort zone and tried some a little heavier and have seen some great improvements in your strength and endurance! I’m proud of you for pushing your limits and getting stronger and healthier! I knew you could do it!
This month, we are going to be incorporating more medicine ball training into our workouts. Medicine balls are a great tool to strengthen the core and condition the whole body. Medicine ball training is simple, but produces great results when done properly. The exercises will challenge your flexibility, balance, strength, endurance, power, speed, coordination, agility, and accuracy. Best of all, you will be having so much fun tossing medicine balls around, that you will forget you’re working out for awhile! You will also have the option to participate in a nutrition challenge to get the most out of your workouts! The right nutrition combined with the right exercise will reap even greater results in the realm of health and weight management. Also, I’ve had some other fun ideas that I’ll tell you a little more about next month! Stay tuned for more Bootcamp fun!
A new set of classes start at the beginning of every month. So, join us in October! All fitness levels welcome! Regardless of your fitness level, you will be able to participate. Danah is really good at modifying exercises to your ability. We all have to start somewhere, and this is your fitness journey—start today!
